Psalm 122:1 (KJV)
“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
David said, “I was glad.” There was joy associated with going to God's house. Corporate worship is different from worshiping alone. When voices come together, hearts unite. When believers lift their hands together, pray together, sing together, and hear God's Word together, something beautiful happens. We become reminded that we are part of God's family. Church should not simply be something we endure. It should become something we anticipate. Ask God to change your perspective. Instead of seeing Sunday as an interruption to your routine, see it as an opportunity. An opportunity to worship. An opportunity to hear. An opportunity to serve. An opportunity to connect. An opportunity to encourage. An opportunity to encounter God.
Prayer
Lord, restore the joy of gathering with Your people. Let me be able to say with David, “I was glad.” Remove attitudes of obligation, inconvenience, or indifference. Give me anticipation for worship and fellowship. Help me enter Your house with thanksgiving and leave with renewed joy. Amen.
Today’s Declaration
“I am glad to gather with God's people. I will approach worship with expectation, gratitude, and joy.”
