Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
“…choose you this day whom ye will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
This first week of prayer should lead to a decision. Joshua didn't merely talk about serving God. He made a declaration: “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” There comes a moment when priorities must become practices. We can say church is important—but do our schedules demonstrate it? We can say God's people matter—but are we connected to them? We can say worship is important—but do we make room for it? We can say God comes first—but does our calendar reflect that conviction? Today is an invitation to make a fresh commitment. Not out of guilt. Not because someone is forcing you. But because you recognize the blessing of belonging to the body of Christ. Make God's house a priority. Desire to assemble. Come ready to worship. Come ready to receive. Come ready to serve. Come ready to encourage. Come ready to be used by God.
Prayer
Father, today I make a fresh commitment to prioritize You. Give me a consistent desire to gather with Your people. Help me protect time for worship, fellowship, prayer, and the teaching of Your Word. Let my life demonstrate that You are first. May my family and I serve You faithfully. Make us committed to Your house, connected to Your people, and passionate about Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Today’s Declaration
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. We will gather, worship, grow, serve, and remain connected to God's people.”
Reflection
What commitment will you make today regarding your participation in the life of your church?
