Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…”
Priorities are revealed by what receives our time, attention, energy, and commitment. Jesus told us to seek first the kingdom of God. Making church a priority is not about believing that a building saves us. It is about establishing a lifestyle in which God receives first place. There will always be something competing for our attention. Work. Family activities. Entertainment. Sports. Travel. Sleep. Errands. Responsibilities. None of these things are necessarily wrong. But even good things can become unhealthy when they consistently push God to the margins. When we intentionally set aside time to gather with God's people, we are saying: “God, You are important to me.”
Prayer
Father, help me examine my priorities. Show me anything that has slowly taken first place in my life. Teach me to seek Your kingdom first. Help me organize my schedule around what matters eternally rather than allowing everything else to determine whether I have time for You. Amen.
Today’s Declaration
“God is first in my life. I will honor Him with my time, my priorities, and my commitment.”
